On Saturday night, Mom and I went to a Gala organized by her company HRCI(SHRM) at the Anderson House on Mass Ave in Washington DC. The combination of the ambience in the house along with my long flowing gown and everyone else in black tie clothing, it felt as if I was in a Jane Austen novel. This house belonged to the Andersons in the early 1900s, and we got a very lovely tour of it. The event was also full of good food and wine. Here are some pictures: (I finally got to wear my evening gown that I have had for years). For more info:

Dushyant’s mom had just come from India the day before, and so we planned it all along with Anne and her family. It was quite an experience… Beer, food, and desserts of all kinds… We were stuffed!! http://www.tasteofarlington.com

Shillong, Meghalaya, INDIA… The Switzerland of India, as they call it. This is place i was born, and where my father’s side of family still lives. We still have a big family house built by the British. All these places remind me of the time I have spent there. Shilong Peak, Elephant falls, Sweet Falls, Wards lake, Lady Hydri Park, all still remind me of those days. Some even remind me of Papa. Faint memories of Papa walking us in Lady Hydri park, and us looking at the leopards, and other animals they had. The Cathederal is the one our maid Pyaari took me every sunday morning for mass, and I still remember liking the white sweet thing they gave in the church. I wish for all of you to be able to visit Shillong at least once in your lifetime….
