This past weekend we drove down to LA from San Francisco to see our dear friend Dushyant.. We also caught up with Akhil and Karishma.. Visited Beverly Hills, Hollywood etc yet again but it was Shank’s first time there.. We also went to the Venice beach.. Here are some pics:
I know its been long since I posted something up here… As most of you know, I ve been busy moving to CALIFOR-N-I-A!! And with settling down and adjusting to the new client… The city I am living in is called Foster City and its 20-25 mins south of San Francisco City… The city is right next to the bay shore and has a lagoon that runs through it.. Here are some pics:
This is an aerial view of the city with the green arrow indicating the apartment complex…
Here’s another aerial view..
The Apartment complex is on the water.. And this is how it looks…
Foster City has a lot of activities.. Wind surfing and kayaking in the lagoon.. Shank and I have also initiated ourselves into the Golf sport and have golfed at this awesome Golf Course.. Neighboring this course is the bay where on weekends one can see so many kite surfers, some also in the air.. Here’s some pics…
Apart from all that, Foster City is just simply so beautiful that one cant believe it.. Here’s some scenic pics of the city…
Hopefully I will be able to buy one of these houses some day…
Last week Shank and I visited Jamaica to watch the Cricket World Cup Semi-Final between SriLanka and NewZealand… We also wanted to get some sun and relaxation so we enjoyed our small 4-5 day trip where we saw most of the island.. We stayed in a touristy part of the Island called Negril, and were putting up in a cliff side resort called Samsara.. The view was awesome as the rooms faced the massive ocean which were off the small cliffs.. We also hung out at the 7 mile beach in Negril where we got a lot of sun and tan… Then we drove to Kingston to see the match which was a great experience all together, the driving was a little tricky being the UK/India style but we managed fine… And for directions we had a map and lots of helpful Jamaican people to guide us…
And here are some pictures from the trip…
We did get a lot of TV time at the match…
This year we went Snow Boarding again to Liberty Mountains in Pennsylvania. It was fun and a lot of falling and soreness But overall we had a lot o fun. Here are some pics and a video of my great fall:
My mom claims to have a done a lot of research before she named me “Aakshi”, and I believe her coz in my 26 years of being alive I have never met anyone with the same name as mine. I know there exist some aakshis out there coz I have googled to figure that out. But, I recently discovered that there is a small beach town near Alibaug in Maharashtra, India called Aakshi. I found a post on someones blog and emailed him to confirm that, and then later found more blogs about the same. So, here it is officially, There is a beach called Aakshi. Check out the couple pics I found.
This is the finale… The New Year’s Eve was awesome! We went to a black tie event in Universal Studios with red carpet and all.. However, we 4 were among the only 10 or so non-asians in this party full of 100s of asians, and I mean I have never seen so many chinkies in one place together.. Thankfully, that didn’t bother us, we drank, danced to gud music, and welcomed 2007. Here are some pics..
The day before I left we went to see the super nice houses on the Malibu Beach and also take a shot at flying this massive kite that was my Christmas gift for Dushyant.. Here’s some pics..
And then we visited San Diego… A one day trip, couple hour drive from LA, equally beautiful as the Santa Barbara one… This trip was important coz one of my old bosses Jim Stevenson always talked about how awesome this city was.. He used to say that it never rained, one didn’t ever need AC or heat, and it was absolutely beautiful… Also, my parent company is in San Diego, so just in case we have to move there, I needed to see how it would be… We saw downtown San Diego, the local markets, and took a ferry across to an Island called Coronado which had an absolutely beautiful beach.. Here are some pics..
